JACKETS
A-2 United Sheeplined model
The United Sheeplined company was located in New Jersey and it received a contract to produce 25,000 A-2 jackets in 1942.
The leather used in this model is a veg-tanned horse-hide with a rich cognac coloured pigment dye.
The stand-out features of this contract are angle-cornered pockets, and although this model was made without a collar-stand it does have a large and well-proportioned collar.
The snap buttons are small crater-style buttons, and the shape of the reinforcement leather embedded in the collar and pocket flaps is circular, similar to what is seen in Dubow jackets.
A super looking A-2 original maker jacket.
