Bush Jacket T-54-2
The US military experimented with their garments before formally adopting them. They even tested prototypes on missions to see if they performed well before going into bulk production. This jacket is one of them. It's an experimental field jacket designed to be worn in sub-tropical, bush-like regions.
From the 1940s to the 1960s the US military's sphere of influence spread thoughout the world, so they required a very varied selection of different types of combat uniforms to suit all those regions. One such region, during the 1950s, was Vietnam, and this model jacket was utlilised there.
