WILLIAM GIBSON

TYPE L-2 WG (SLENDER)

TYPE L-2 WG (SLENDER)

The Type L-2 was standardized by U.S. Army Air Force on May 21st 1945, and produced in nylon fabric that DuPont developed in 1934. Intended for use in the Light-zone: climates between 42 degrees and 65 degrees Fahrenheit, it features a leather tab sewn to left front chest for attaching oxygen mask retainer clip and is lined with nylon-wool double-faced fabric for comfortable warmth.

The production of this exclusive product was inspired by William Gibson’s best selling novel - PATTERN RECOGNITION. A Black Buzz Rickson's MA-1 Flying Jacket is the main character's garment of choice. Although USAF flight jackets were never actually produced in black by the US Military, the fictionalised version in this book was picked up by Buzz Rickson's and a collaboration between themselves and Gibson made the garment a reality. Since the MA-1 was first released a number of other William Gibson Buzz products have emerged, including now this model of L-2.

The trademark of all William Gibson garments is that they are Black.

This is an extremely exclusive product made in very limited numbers.
