TYPE M-51 'FISH TAIL' PARKA
The M-51 is another design classic from a by-gone age, more commonly referred to as a 'Fish Tail Parka'.
Developed in the early 50s for the US Army, the M-51 saw prevalent use in the Korean War. Designed to be worn over the rest of the combat outfit, the M-51 has many features design to keep the elements out.
Of course, as many will know, the M-51 went on to gain further fame in the 1960s, being the garment of choice amongst the youth culture of the Mods - the long enveloping design of the Fish Tail was perfect protection against the elements (trendy suit underneath) when riding their scooters.
